Tserovani, Georgia ,2024
This work explores the reflection of urban traces within the natural environment. Centered around the "Tserovani Institute"—a former Soviet-era scientific institution in Georgia—the installation engages with a space that has lost its original function. Once dedicated to education and research, the building was left behind fol- lowing the collapse of the Soviet Union and the subsequent wave of privatization. The imagery on the canvases originates from sketches found in an old biology book found in the institute. These biological forms are reinterpreted through a process, This act of layering and removal references the repetitive cycles of abandonment and renewal, a history that permeates the space.
